After Tooth Extractions
Tooth extractions can be a serious and necessary procedure for various reasons. Some patients suffer from tooth decay, others need to remove teeth that hinder orthodontic treatment, while other's simply have wisdom teeth which are too large than normal and cause discomfort when they grow inwards towards the mouth. Regardless if one decides on an extraction over preserves (tooth filling), aftercare will still be critical because pain as well as risk of infection is lessened with proper care; thus ensuring patient comfort throughout this process.
Care immediately following surgery:
After your tooth has been extracted, healing will take some time. Within 3 to 14 days the sutures should fall out or dissolve and for those that are not resorbable a follow-up appointment with your doctor is scheduled so stitches can be removed in order smooth over bone until they fully integrate into place.
